Becoming a Family

This week was sooo busy and so amazing. I only had time to write in my journal once. There were so many amazing things that happened. So on Thursday we had zone conference where we gathered half the mission together. During that we broke off into zones for a little bit and we got to do a training with our zone. We discussed some goals we wanted to set this transfer as a zone for what we wanted to accomplish and become. We set goals of each companionship finding a family to teach and becoming a family as a zone. Our motto this transfer is "Find a family, by becoming a family." It has been going great. This week we have had almost the whole zone find a family to teach and it has unified us so much. I am so excited for these upcoming weeks.

The family that we found this week is Deborah and her 2 kids, Giovanni & Georgio. They are amazing. We have met with Deborah once or twice. But she always wanted to meet without her kids there because she wanted it to be quiet while we met. This week we met her kids one is 17 and the other is 15 and they seemed so happy to meet with us and even asked if we could meet later on in the day so they could be there as well. We were so surprised. It was a miracle.

Kristen is still going strong for her baptism of November 11th. She came to church again with the family. It is so awesome to see the whole family come to church together. That is what this gospel is all about. Uniting families together forever. It is such a blessing to see that. I love these people. During our lesson this week with them we were talking about how our Heavenly Father has given us our agency or our freedom to choose and how satan is always trying to take away our agency and bind us down and right as we said that their 7 year old daughter said "Yeah, like homework" We were laughing sooo hard. Its probably not as funny in an email but in the moment it was hilarious because she had been quiet the whole time.

So the exciting upcoming event for this week is Blair's baptism on Saturday. She is so strong. Her testimony is growing a ton and it will be a great event. She is inviting her boyfriend to our next lesson with her and to her baptism. We are excited to being teaching him as well. She said he was really interested. So we will find out!

Overall it has been a great week. I find myself treating the zone like a football team quite often. It feels good. We do breakouts and claps and different chants and stuff. Its pretty fun and It gets everyone hype to go out and work. It isn't the conventional way to do missionary work and be a Zone Leader but it gets results. We have had miracles out the wazoo this week, and we are looking forward to many more. I love you all.

Love,

Elder Hallmark
