Greenie Fire

Well this week was transfer week and it was bitter sweet. Elder Anderson got transferred to the Del Campo ward, and I will be staying here with my new companion Elder Hatch. I have loved the last 2 transfers I have been able to spend with Elder Anderson. He is one of my favorite companions if not the most favorite. I feel like the Lord has blessed me with such amazing companions throughout my mission. It was sad to see Elder Anderson get transferred. I am excited for him because he will be in the Del Campo ward which is where I started my mission!! It is still my favorite ward! I told him to say hi to all of the families I miss there. I am also excited to be with Elder Hatch. I served around him in the Sacramento Zone. He was a new missionary that was being trained in my district. I am excited to feel some of that greenie fire from him. This is going to be an amazing transfer.

This week we also had the privilege of having stake conference. Elder Gary Wilde of the Seventy came to speak. This was actually the 2nd time I heard him speak because he came to the Sacramento stake conference when I was there a few months ago. He is a very spiritual man and I am always touched by his remarks. Something that stuck out to me in his talk was when he mentioned how we need to simplify and he went on to talk about that for a few minutes. As I thought about simplifying I immediately started thinking about that within my missionary work. I feel like it is so easy to get caught up in all the small things that we need to be doing everyday and it can get a little overwhelming. So my goal this transfer is going to be trying to simplify my missionary work, not get caught up in all the little things I am supposed to be doing or saying. But just focus on the basic doctrine of Christ. Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. I am grateful for the inspiration that comes as we listen to the leaders of this church.

Not much has happened this week with our investigators. A lot of them actually had to reschedule our appointments for next week so we are looking forward to meeting with them all soon.

Love,

Elder Hallmark
