This week was something
special. It really strengthened my testimony of this church, this
gospel, and our Heavenly Father's great plan for us. This week we had
the opportunity to meet an apostle of the Lord: Elder Dale G. Renlund.
He came and spoke to our mission! We each had the opportunity to shake
his hand and meet with him personally. As he spoke to us the spirit
truly confirmed to me that he was an apostle of Jesus Christ. I know he
is. I am so grateful for living Prophets and Apostles on the earth
today. What a blessing that is.
This
week we also met with Rickey Snow again. He is a less active who hasn't been
to church in years. Recently his wife died. It has been such an amazing
experience to explain to him the beautiful principles in the Plan of
Salvation. The fact that he can be sealed to his wife in a temple of God
and live with her for time and all eternity. What truly remarkable
thing that is. What greater evidence is there of our Heavenly Father's
love for us than to allow us the opportunity to live with our loved ones
for eternity. I am so grateful for the Priesthood Authority of God
that has that sealing power.
In Matthew 16:18-19 it says
18 "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
Jesus
Christ gave his apostles Priesthood authority when he was on the
earth. That priesthood authority is now again on the earth and what a
blessing that is. In teaching Rickey it allowed me to reflect on the
recent death of my Grandpa. How truly amazing it is to know that I have
been sealed to my family and I will be able to live with him for
eternity. I am eternally grateful for this truth. I love my family.
Heaven would not be heaven without the ones I love. I know that because
the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth and we can all
obtain that blessing of living with our families forever. I love the
opportunity I have to share these truths with others here in Sacramento.
Love,

Something else cool we saw this week
So In LC1 there are lots of
farmlands. This week we had tons of rain which caused a lot of flooding.
When the Sacramento river floods over it goes into all the farmlands.
So as we were driving through the farmlands this week it looked like we
were driving through the middle of the ocean. I took a panoramic
picture.
