Delicious To The Taste

This week we were able to teach a lot of people. It always feels so good to come out of a lesson. You can always feel the spirit so strong there. We have been teaching someone who hasn't been to church in several years and as we came by and taught them this week they just seemed so much happier. The gospel has really been changing their life. They have been reading the scriptures, praying and coming to church the last 2 weeks and their countenance is just so much brighter. I love being able to see that in others. It happens every time people start to do those things. There is a reason why our Heavenly Father asks us to do those things. Its because he knows how much happiness it will bring us and all he wants for us is to be happy. He is a perfect father. So some exciting news is this Saturday Elder Renlund from the Quorum of the 12 apostles will be coming to visit our mission! What a privilege it is to have an Apostle of the Lord come and speak to us. I am grateful that Heavenly Father has once again restored his gospel to the earth and called Prophets and Apostles to lead and guide it. So this week we were studying Alma chapter 32 from the Book of Mormon with one of our investigators and it was a super spiritual lesson. It is one of my favorite chapters. I feel like I have read it over 20 times and each time I read it I take something new out of it. It is just so good. So the verse we were discussing with them was verse 28. It says:

"Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me."

So our investigator brought up the word delicious. She said it seemed like a weird word to use there. It is certainly not a word you hear often to describe anything besides food. But it is interesting that it is used here. I think it is the best possible descriptor to be used. That is exactly what the gospel is. It is the most delicious thing in the world. There is nothing that I love more than to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Reading the Book of Mormon, going to church and saying our daily prayers to build that relationship with our heavenly father bring so much joy and happiness. It truly becomes the most delicious thing you can taste. It certainly has for me. I am so grateful for this.

Love,
