Never a Coincidence

Well this week was special. Last Wednesday we had interviews with our mission president President Jardine. Those are always a special opportunity because it is not very often we get to meet with him one on one. He is a spiritual man and every time I meet with him I learn something new. In preparation for our interview by reading the scripture Mosiah 6:6 "And it came to pass that king Mosiah did walk in the ways of the Lord, and observe his judgments and his statutes, and did keep his commandments in all things whatsoever he commanded him" He invited us to ponder the question "What does it mean to walk in the ways of the Lord?" As I thought about that the thing that came to mind was a talk from the last general conference by David A. Bednar. He asked the Question "Do we only know about Christ, or are we increasingly coming to know him?" I think as we walk in the ways of the Lord we begin to increasingly come to know him and we begin to walk with him. By keeping his commandments and observing his judgments and his statutes we truly come to know him. I have witnessed that in my life. There is a noticeable difference between the times I kept the commandments of the Lord and when I didn't.

So a miracle we had this week happened when we street contacted this guys named John as he was walking his dog. We talked for a little and then he shut it off real quick we we started talking about Christ and said he had to go. It seemed pretty rude at first, but we are used to that as missionaries. So later that night as we are on our way home, we pass a car on our bikes and it honks. We didn't think anything of it so we just kept going. Then it honked twice. So Elder Damon looked back at me and asked if we should go check it out. I agreed but it seemed pretty sketchy. It was dark outside and there was no one else nearby at all. When we got up of course it was John. We were so surprised to see him again. He apologized for ending the conversation early and said he wanted to hear what all we had to say. So we taught him about how God has called a prophet to the earth and restored his gospel, and how much it could bless his life. He was so interested and didn't break eye contact the whole time. He said he really wanted to know if it was all true so we showed him about how he could read the Book of Mormon and pray about it and ask God if it was true, and that is how he would receive his answer. After we finished Elder Damon asked him why he decided to stop us when we passed him. He said he felt prompted to do it and he felt like there was a reason God put us in his path again in the same day and he couldn't turn down that opportunity. It was such a spiritual experience. I know the Lord truly lead both of us to cross paths so we could share the message about His gospel.

Sorry for the short email this week. There was so much that happened I just couldnt remember it all. This is the condensed version of our week. I hope everyone is doing well. I pray for you all daily.
