Joseph Smith - My Hero

Well this has been another successful week! I am loving it here. We
have such an amazing ward. It is a little older than most wards
though. The average age is like 65. lol. But they sure do love
missionaries here. We are getting fed so much!

Last Saturday we had a huge stake wide service project at the middle
school here in Fair Oaks. We completely reshaped their court yard I
wish I took pics because it was so amazing. Afterwards we had a
barbecue and they gave all the missionaries all the extra food so we
literally went home with like 100 hamburger patties and hotdogs, as
well as tons of chips and cookies. Missionaries get the special
treatment here in Sacramento. lol.

My favorite part about the mission so far has been meeting some of
the most amazing people in the world. I have the best missionaries in
my zone and we live next to the AP's so we always go to their house on
P-days to work out. They are so cool. I love working with them.

So this we got a text from Bishop Allred this week and he asked Elder
Toki and I to give a talk on Joseph Smith and the restoration. I AM SO
EXCITED. In case you didn't know, Joseph Smith is one of my favorite
people of all time, I have researched so much and him and know almost
everything about his life. He is one of my heroes. So getting a chance
to give a talk on him is like a dream come true for me. It will be
hard trying to fit it all in just 15 mins though.

A cool thought I had was that literally every concern about Jesus
Christ, the gospel, Joseph Smith or anything else that has to do with
this church and the origins of it, call all be solved be reading and
praying about the Book of Mormon. It really is the keystone of our
religion. Everything hinges on that book. It truly is amazing, we are
so blessed to have it.

I don't really know what else to write about right now. I love my
mission. I know the church is true, and I know this is the Lord's work
we are out here doing. I am so thankful to be out here sharing the
gospel of Jesus Christ.

"What do we hear in the gospel that we have received? Truth out of
the earth,  mercy from heaven, a voice of gladness for the living and
the dead. Shall we not go on in so great a cause?" - Joseph Smith Jr.
