Sac Town

WOW!! What a fantastic first week! I left the MTC last Tuesday and landed in Sacramento at 9:30am. I love this mission. I am serving in the Del Campo ward in Fair Oaks, California. So this has been bitter sweet, I have loved it out here so far but I was so sad to leave the MTC. I had such and amazing district and companion and it was all so fun. But I am excited to finally be out here in the field teaching real people. It has been so fun to share the gospel with everyone. We literally stop and talk to everyone we see walking on the streets...LOL. This is an all biking area so my legs have been getting nice and toned. My trainer is Elder Toki, he is from Hawaii and he is so awesome, I love him and cant wait to learn so much from him. Unfortunately we forgot to take a picture together this week so I will send one next week. President Jardine is so amazing! I have never met a more loving man. I am so lucky to have him as my mission president. This week felt like it has flown by!! We have met so many people and the ward is absolutely amazing. There have been no missionaries in this ward for the few months, so the members are so excited to have us. This week was ward conference and when the stake president spoke, he called Elder Toki and I up and had us bear our testimonies really quick. It definitely caught me by surprise. At the end of his talk he shared a story. Recently Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles came and visited all the stake presidents and bishops in the northern California area. Afterwards he said "I have seen his face, and heard his voice, I know the Savior lives." What a powerful testimony by an apostle!! I know they are truly apostles of God and that this is Christ's church. He leads it and guides it Himself. His work will roll forth, to every nation, kindred and tongue. I am so thankful to be a part of this great work!!

Love, Elder Hallmark
