We had interviews with President Hymas on Friday
and it was great to be able to have some personal time with him. He is
such a great leader and example, and I learn something new from him each
time I meet with him. We talked a lot about how to help the zone. They
have been struggling a lot recently with finding new people to teach. So
we have been praying about what we can do to help them. Sometimes it is
hard to find new people, especially with how rural El Dorado County is.
But we know it can be done. I have seen so many miracles since I have
been here.
So towards the end of their
missions each missionary gets a chance to go to coloma with President
and Sister Hymas. I didnt think of myself as getting towards the end of
my mission but I guess it isnt too far, because me and several other
missionaries got to go there today and tour the state park and museum,
and even pan for gold. Coloma is the place where gold was discovered in
January of 1848, which started the great California gold rush in 1849.
There is so much history there, it was so cool to learn about
everything. It was a super fun trip. It also made me realize that I am approaching the last 6 months of my mission. It is crazy to think
about. Time sure does fly. I am so grateful to be out here. There is no
better place to be.
Love,
Elder Hallmark
