Promptings

Man, this week has been one for the record books! I can't believe how many amazing things have happened. So on Thursday night I was able to go to the temple with Kim and Haley. I baptized them last Christmas in the Del Campo ward. It was so special to be able to see them again and especially in the temple. The spirit was soooo strong there and I had a smile on my face the entire time. I love that family so much. Kim and Jason were talking about how they wanted to get sealed in the temple this December! I am looking forward to that a lot. That would be so awesome to be there for!!

So then on Friday night we got to go to the temple with Hannah! It was her first time going as well and it was another sweet experience. The spirit was so strong their as well. It is just so amazing to think about the fact that we had a small part in helping this person come to the knowledge of their savior. It fills me with so much joy. Hannah is soooo funny. Everytime Elder Henderson and I meet with her we are laughing sooo hard.

So we had a lesson on Wednesday with our investigator Anna. She is Daria's mom. Daria is one of our recent converts. She is 17. Their family is russian. We have been meeting with anna since daria first got baptized. It has been a little hard at first because Anna doesnt speak the best english. But she has gotten soo much better recently. Well Anna wants to be baptized but she said the only requirement is that her oldest daughter who is still in Russia will be able to be there. She told us that she wont be able to come to the US until like november or december so we just accepted that and moved on. Well after our lesson with her, Elder Henderson and I just felt so strongly that she is ready to be baptized now and that we need to invite her to be baptized on August 24th. So we met with her again and invited her and she was a little nervous, but she said she would do it, she just needed to talk to her husband. So the next day we went to go follow up with her and when we got to her apartment her daughter, Daria came down and said that she doesnt want to talk to us right now so we shouldnt go up. She said that her dad had told anna that he didnt want her to be baptized. So she couldnt do it. It was so hard to hear that. We were praying sooooo hard that whole night and they next day. We knew that Heavenly Father had prompted us to invite her to baptism on August 24th for a reason. So the next day at church Daria came up to us and told us that her dad had changed his mind and said yes. We were so happy. I can't even describe the feelings I had. It was so amazing. The whole time we were at church Anna was inviting everyone to her baptism this Thursday

That whole experience brought to mind the scripture from the Book of Mormon in Ether 12:6 "And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith."
We knew that the Lord had prompted us to invite her to baptism and so we went forward with faith. After the trial of our faith we had a sure witness that this was truly God's will. I am so grateful for his hand in all things.

Love,
