Healing

Well this week has been fun. We were able to go help out in Cameron Park to set up this big festival they were doing in their park. It was super fun. It actually reminded me a lot of Little Elm when the little carnival comes in the fall. Lots of little shops and there was a band playing on a small stage. It was awesome. I loved it.

We also had an awesome lesson with this guy named John Means. Elder Anderson and I taught him in the past but we had to stop because he kept cancelling our appointments. Recently Elder Hatch and I reached out to him and had a great lesson where he talked about how much he wanted to be baptized and how he wanted his whole family baptized. He had truly humbled himself before Christ. He had a super rough past and has been in and out of jail most of his life. But he is just tired of that lifestyle and wants a change! So after our lesson we invited him to church and he said he would bring his family. So on Sunday he never showed up. Then we texted him asking what happened and he told us how that night his wife came home and said she wanted a divorce. When we saw that, it really broke our hearts. It is always hard to hear when a family is getting broken up. We are going to keep praying for him and see if we can help them out at all to try and avoid divorce. I know that the our Savior Jesus Christ can heal broken lives and broken relationships. I hope that we can help them apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their lives so they can heal their broken marriage. In 3 Nephi 9:13 the savior says "...will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?"

I know the Savior heals and I know he can change us. I have felt it and seen it in my life over and over again. This is the good news. This is the whole purpose of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why we are on missions. To help people experience and use the atonement of Jesus Christ in their life. What a blessing it is to share this with others.

Love,

Elder Hallmark
