Does the Sun Shine?

Well this week went fairly well. We have been working a lot on Family History. Our Stake President, President Cassinat has the big project going on called the ONMI project, which stands for One Name Monthly Identified. So basically finding one new name in your family history per month. Well unfortunately I know nothing about family history so we had a big training on how to do it so now I am well acquainted with it and am starting to enjoy it a lot. I have been doing it a lot on my iPad in the evening when we are home. We have been using this project in part of our contacting this week. It is very interesting because even people that are not interested in hearing our message are still interested in family history so they are willing to listen to us. We have seen a lot of success from it this week. I am excited to continue using it.

This week we had stake conference and it was fantastic. We had Elder Baxter and Elder Wilde of the Quorum of the Seventy come and speak to us. It they were some of the best talks I have ever heard. As they both spoke you could feel the Holy Ghost testify to you that they are truly men of God. Our mission President, President Jardine and His wife, Sister Jardine spoke as well. Something that Sister Jardine said really stood out to me. She said "ask me how I know that God lives and I will tell you to ask me how I know the sun shines." The more I thought about that. the more I realized how true that is. We know the sun shines because we can feel it's warmth, we can see it beautiful rays of light touch everything in the world. We can see its effect on almost everything. That is the exact same for our loving Father in Heaven. I know he lives.

Love,

Elder Hallmark
