God Loves Us

Well what another blessed week this has been. There is so much that happens every week that I by the time I start to email I have forgotten it all. I will bring my journal with me next time I email so I can remember when I am writing this blog.

So last Monday we were able to visit Emily and Charles. It went so well! We were able to teach them the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Emily has such a strong testimony already, we are just trying to help Charles grow his. We were finally able to extend the invitation for him to read and pray about the gospel and he was excited to give it a try. I am happy for him because I know as he reads the Book of Mormon and takes the time to pray about it as Moroni has counseled us, with a sincere heart, with real intent and with faith in Christ, then we will come to know the truth of it through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Unfortunately we weren't able to meet with Zach for most of the week because he has been so busy trying to fix his car. But on Saturday we were finally able to sit down and have a lesson with him. It is so amazing to see how his testimony has grown. He is excited to be baptized and make the decision to follow Christ. His Baptismal date is still set for May 28th

This past weekend we were also blessed to have stake conference. Elder Call of the Quorum of the Seventy was there and it was such a privilege to hear from him. He gave such an amazing talk about how can all do better to share the gospel with others so that they too can feel the joy that comes from the gospel. We were also able to hear from my mission president, President Jardine. He is such a spiritual person. My favorite quote from his talk was "The Book of Mormon is an eternal truth, and it stands on its own. It needs no defense. It is a witness of God's eternal love for us." It was truly an edifying stake conference.

In my personal study this week I came across the scripture in 1 Nephi 11:17 from the Book of Mormon.
So in this chapter Nephi asks the Lord what his father's vision means. As he asks this, an angel appears to him and asks him what he knows about God. This his response in verse 17 "And I said unto him: I know that He loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things." What a beautiful truth that is! We may not always know why things happen or what the meaning of everything is, but one thing we do know for sure. GOD LOVES US, and we are his children. I testify God loves each and every one of us, I testify that his love is unfailing. It is something we can always rely on and that is such a comforting feel.

Very Truly Yours,

Elder Hallmark
