Well
this week has been jam packed full of spiritual experiences! I am so
grateful for them all. I am thankful for a journal where I can record
all of these amazing experiences and feelings. This
week was a great one for personal growth and development. I feel like I
have been able to make consistent and steady progress to become a
better disciple of Jesus Christ. This week during companionship
inventory Elder Anderson and I were able to talk a lot about him taking
the lead in more leadership and proselyting responsibilities and it went
really well.
I feel like it has brought us closer and he has really made an effort
to step up and take lead in more things. It has also helped me to grow
as well. Almost my whole mission I have been leading everything with all
my companions (except when I was being trained) and so this experience
has helped me learn how to use more self control in contacts, lessons,
and planning because I allow him to lead it out. It allows me to listen
to the promptings of the holy ghost more first instead of speaking or
acting first. I am grateful for that.
Well
we had another lesson with Destiny this week and it was so awesome! She
spent the first few minutes venting about a lot of things that were
going wrong in her life, and it was perfect because we were then able to
teach about the creation, the fall of Adam and Eve, and the atonement
of Jesus Christ which overcome the effects of the fall. It answered all
of her questions perfectly as we explained the purpose for opposition in
mortality and why Heavenly Father allows us to go through trials. At
the end we invited her to be baptized on February 17th
and she accepted!! Like I said in my email last week, she has come
soooo far. She is progressing and I know that her being baptized will
give her that lasting peace in life that she is looking for.
We
also had a wonderful lesson yesterday with a new family that we found.
It is a Mom, Dad, and two kids! We taught them about the restoration of
the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the spirit was so strong during the
lesson. They all seemed so engaged and had such great questions. In the
end the willing accepted the invitation to read the Book of Mormon and
pray to ask God if our message was true. Often times we don't get the
opportunity to teach a whole family, and so it was such a blessing to be
able to meet with the whole family. This gospel is designed to bless
everyone, but especially families. The promise that we can live with our
family forever is one the glorious blessings of the gospel of Jesus
Christ. I love you all!
Love,
Elder Hallmark
