This
week has literally gone by in the blink of an eye. I hardly remember
what happened. It feels like I just emailed yesterday. It is crazy how
fast time flies. I can't believe it will be Christmas in a week! I am so
excited! There are so many good things up ahead.
Well the blessing of this week was being able to go to the Temple! So Elder
Anderson and I both served together in the Georgetown ward and one of
the youth that we hung out with a lot was the Bishop's son, Danny. He is
a super good kid and was a little borderline about a mission, but as we
were able to get close with him we talked a lot about how much it has
blessed and changed our lives and by the time we left he had submitted
his papers to serve a mission. It was awesome to see! Then a few months
ago he got his mission call to the Berlin, Germany mission. And last
week he texted us and said he was going to the temple to receive his
endowment. He invited us to come. Normally we are only allowed to go to
the temple if it a recent convert who is receiving their endowment but
we called President Hymas and explained the situation and he gave us
permission to go. There is nothing sweeter than seeing someone you love
and have come close to enter the temple and receive the blessings there.
It is the best place in the world. I love being inside. I wish we could
go more on our missions but I look forward to being able to go every
week when I get home. It is such a blessing to have a temple so close.
This
week was a great one for being able to meet with all of our
investigators. Erica was able to come to church on Sunday and she is
making a ton of progress. She has been reading a couple of chapters a day
from the Book of Mormon and it has been changing her so much. She is
working on her smoking addiction as well and she said she usually smokes
when she is stressed, but as she reads the Book of Mormon she said it
takes all the stress away so she doesn't want to smoke anymore. That is
the power of the Book of Mormon. If only we could help everyone
understand and feel that. Deborah and Kristen are still doing well. They
are moving a little slower along but they are still progressing. That's
pretty much it for this week. I love you all and hope you have a great
week as well!
Love,
Elder Hallmark
