Everything is His

This week was soo good. So on Tuesday we had like one of the most spiritual lessons ever. We met with our investigator Jose. His mom was murdered a few months ago and it has been super hard on him. It was such a traumatic experience and Jose is only 18. I am so impressed with how well he is keeping himself together after an experience like that. But he opened up about everything in this lesson and he told us how he felt his mom has been leading him to this church since she died. We took him on a temple tour a few weeks ago and he said it was the most peace and the most hope he has ever felt in his life. It was so amazing to testify in this lesson of eternal families. We invited him to be baptized on Sep 16th and he accepted. We are helping him prepare for that now. He is so awesome and has such a strong desire to follow God. I am amazed, because when I was 18 I would have never acted like that. I am grateful for Jose's example. He will be a future bishop or stake president. I can tell.

Another cool thing that happened this week was that Elder Martinez of the first quorum of the seventy, came to visit us. First on Thursday we did a special mission leadership council with him and then the next day the whole mission met and we did a zone conference with him. One of the biggest things that stuck out to me that he said was this. "when we go to serve a mission we are not sacrificing out time to the Lord. The time is already his. When we pay tithing we are not sacrificing our money to the Lord. The money is already his. When we are out working in the hot sun and getting soaked in sweat and sunburned we are not sacrificing our health to the lord. Our bodies are already his. The Lord already has everything. The only the we can sacrifice and give to him, is our will." That really put a lot into perspective for me. Everything we have is from the lord already. There is nothing we can give him that he doesn't already have. other than our will and our desire. I am grateful for his love and his mercy. He offers us so much in return for so little. All we have to do is choose to follow him, keep his commandments, repent. And he offers us the amazing gift of his son's atoning sacrifice. I am so grateful for all that the Lord has blessed me with.

Love,
