'Till We Meet Again, Del Campo!

This week was so crazy. So as expected, after spending 7 1/2 months in the Del Campo ward, I have been transferred to the Sacramento stake serving in the Laguna Creek 1st and 6th wards. My new companion is Elder Carper. He is from South Jordan, Utah. He came out with Elder Damon. I am really looking forward to working with him. Even though we are in the Sacramento stake our whole area is in Elk Grove city limits. I am so excited to serve here. We transferred on Monday and then spent the rest of the day working there. From what I have already seen it is a nice area. With both of those areas combined we have a huge area to cover so we have a car. It is so much better than being on bike. That is one of the things I will not miss about the Del Campo ward. I will miss a lot of the people there. After serving in that area for my whole mission up until now I have gotten really close to a lot of people there. Luckily I was able to see them all on Sunday night before I left the next day.

So yesterday we visited someone named Vikash. He is an investigator in the laguna creek 6th ward. So when we knocked his mom was so excited to see us and let us in immediately. I was surprised because usually that is not the reaction when get when we knock on a door lol. But when we got in we met him and he is so cool. He has a testimony of the gospel and knows everything is true. The only the keeping him from being baptized is some addiction he has. We are going to start working with him because he wants to stop those. So an interesting experience we had with the mom is while we were there she made us so food and it looked like these little triangle pizza rolls. Now keep in mind they are from India. So when we tried it, it was one of the spiciest foods I have ever had. Later she was talking to us and asking if we could come over for dinner some time. She asked us if we like spicy and we said yes and asked if she was talking about something similar to the food we were eating and she said "no that's not spicy at all, I'm talking about actually spicy" Elder Carper and I looked at each other and were both thinking "what the heck?!? This isn't spicy?!?" I guess I am just not used to "real" spicy foods.

Well sorry for the short email this week, there hasn't been too much that happened because I just got transferred. I am excited to see the work progress in this area. I know this gospel is true. I know Heavenly Father lives and loves us. I love sharing this message with others.
