A BERRY good week

What a week this has been! Elder Maloy and I have been working harder than ever this week. One of the great things I am learning from him has been organization and planning. He is so organized and has everything divided up into lists so it makes it so easy to plan and makes our days far more effective because of the people it allows us to see. We can fit more in our schedule. I have already been able to see the success it has brought just from one week. We have been able to teach way more people and visit so many more families. I love it. He is really helping me to become a better missionary and I am so thankful to have him as a companion.
One of the great experiences we had this week was while we were talking to one of our previous investigators, something surprised him and while he was drinking beer he spit it all over us. It was not intentional but nonetheless it was not an enjoyable experience. Haha.
On Thursday afternoon we were able to have a lesson with Isabel. It went so well! She is now down to smoking only 3 cigarettes a day and 1 cup of coffee. She is making such great progress and we are so excited for her. She won't commit to being baptized on a date but she said as soon as she is able to stop those two things she will get baptized. We know it will happen soon and we know she has had her prayers answered as she prays every night to help her overcome her addictions. She is so awesome.
Thursday night we were able to meet with Emily and Charles. Recently Charles has been a little reserved. He hasn't been saying much in lessons and hasn't seemed to interested in general. But on Thursday he finally opened up to us and decided that he really wanted to find out if it these things are true. He committed to reading and praying every day and really putting it to the test. He said he felt like he needed to change something in his life and this might be it. We are excited for him to start this journey we read to him John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." And explained to him that as he reads, prays, comes to church and really commits himself to knowing if these things are true or not he will know "whether it be of God" or whether we speak of ourselves.
So on Wednesday we were able to meet with Neil, who happens to be my favorite person I have met so far in my mission. He is the coolest guy and I could talk to him for hours about life. He reads the Book of Mormon everyday and each lesson he is so excited to tell us all the cool stories that are happening in it right now and all the new things he is learning. It is a special experience to see someone enjoying reading the Book of Mormon for the first time. He knows the book is true. He said he has received an answer when he prayed about it. We are just having a tough time trying to help him understand what that really means. He has no desire to be baptized because he said he doesn't want to be tied down to any church. But he believes that this church is lead by a living prophet. We will continue to help him try and connect the dots. As it says in the introduction to the Book of Mormon
"We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost. (See Moroni 10:3–5.)
"Those who gain this divine witness from the Holy Spirit will also come to know by the same power that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is His revelator and prophet in these last days, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s kingdom once again established on the earth, preparatory to the Second Coming of the Messiah."
Because he has received a witness that this is true he will also come to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's kingdom established on the earth. What a beautiful message the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ is. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for the opportunity I have to share it with others.
"34. O Lord, wilt thou grant unto us that we may have success in bringing them again unto thee in Christ.
"35. Behold, O Lord, their souls are precious, and many of them are our brethren: therefore, give unto us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethren, again unto thee." - Alma 31:34-35

Bought some fresh strawberries this week from a street fruit stand. These are the best strawberries I have ever had.
