Summer is Here!

Well this has been a long HOT week. It has been over 100 degrees everyday. Everyone here says this is not usual at all coming this early in the year. They say it usually doesn't get that hot until August. So I'm hoping this is just a heat wave and not a sign for how the whole summer is going to be lol. Elder Toki and I have been melting as we ride our bikes to each appointment. But I'm so glad we have a strong relationship because I was thinking earlier this week how much harder it would be to get out and work in this heat if I didn't love my companion. The good news about this heat wave is that every house we go to people offer us water!

I am starting to love this area more and more. I am growing closer to the people, our bishop, our ward mission leader, and especially my companion. It is going to be tough leaving this area. This has been an amazing place to start my mission at.

Something I have especially witnessed this week has been how when the day seems to be a total waste because no one is answering their doors, we haven't been able to talk to people, and we are just sitting in the sun, Heavenly Father always seems to put someone in our path. It is so amazing to witness. Literally every time. It has strengthened my testimony that this is His work. Maybe He needed us to knock on those doors and get no answers so that we would be in the path of that person walking by at exactly the right time. The Lord blesses us with miracles everyday.

This week we were able to meet with Zach! It was such a good lesson. We were able to teach him the plan of salvation and invite him to be baptized on June 25th. He is making so much progress. This lesson however we came with the the sister missionaries that cover the Young Single Adult ward. We asked Zach last time if he would like to start going there because our ward is so old and he is 29 and he said he would. So the Sister Missionaries are officially teaching him now. It was hard to pass him off but we know it was the right thing. We are still planning on stopping by and checking up on him every once in a while.

On Wednesday we were able to go on exchanges with the Fair Oaks 4th ward Elders. They are in our district. Exchanges are always fun because you get to learn from other missionaries and get to know them a little better.
Well I love you all. I love the Lord and I know this is his work we are doing out here. I know He lives. I have witnessed the power of his love as He has changed others lives, as well as mine.
